Powell`s Dairy Freeze in Starke

I set for 15 minutes nobody come to vehicle then I called my order another 20 minutes went by finally I walked up to the window and she was just now coming out with it Powell is getting ridiculous

Love the service here! Can't beat the iconic 50s curb service! Come support this local business! Could use a few salad options!!! Bring on a healthy smoothie :p Bring cash to tip your waitress. You can not add a tip to a credit card. Our server was so great but we didnt have cash. Tip her for us!!

I drive all the way from Jacksonville to stop by Powell's. Powell's is very nostalgic for me. my family and I used to stop by here on the way to camp down south when I was young.

The shakes here are amazing. I had never been before; I tell you I've been missing out! Definitely come here if you want the best milkshake in Starke.

If I could give this place negative stars I would! Rudest, disrespectful teenage girl working there! It's a big negative!

Everytime I've been I've had to wait quite a while for average food. Last time I went my shake was half melted by the time I got it. A former employee once told me a story about them having rats and roaches. Even if it's not true that's not something you'd want someone to be telling people.

Good ice cream...here from points north, and will have to try other next time we're here

We stopped in we were hungry I got it cheeseburger fully loaded wife got the same and the place has curb service could not believe it it was unbelievable the young lady we're walking out and it's something I haven't seen in awhile or they came out and literally we're coming up to the cars and getting yours and bring him out to the car and the ice cream cones were huge couldn't believe it service was good the food was good and the ice cream was very sweet

We come here for the service and desserts. We have always had good service the 2 years we have been coming. Today, however, we arrived at Powell's at 1:10pm. Our order was taken at 1:18pm and we left at 1:56pm not have gotten our two milkshakes, that's all we ordered. We watched as people arrived after us get their food - burgers, fries, hotdogs etc! Never have we had that bad of service there before.

Pulled in and saw they were crowded so we got out to get service. I have to say it's a little run down and dirty outside. So we stood in line and before we could even get to the window we heard I'm sorry we are out of bananas which a banana milk shake is what we came for but we decided we would try something else. Still hadn't moved in 10 minutes then we hear they are out of chocolate. Well we just turned around and left after that. I felt bad for that young lady who was trying to do it all.

This was my first trip here. A friend of mine asked me to take him to this area, we live in Orange Park. So after he did what he had to do, he asked if we were hungry because he knew of this really good place around the corner. I had the burger with Cajun fries and let me tell you that was probably the best burger I've had in a while. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and topped beautifully. Tasted amazing. The fries are just outta this world, my faves as well. I WILL be back, even if I don't have anything to do out there. Y'all got me hooked

It's a must stock out here in starke fl! Great people, great food! Get you food or ice cream. My kids love their dipped cones.... I'm a lover of the fried mushrooms. You can even get hotdogs, hamburgers or other sandwiches. This is a great family spot.

We always get the shrimp box, fried mushrooms and a sweet tea. This time though, the cole slaw wasn't up to its usual tastiness, it was a little sour. I'll chalk it up to a busy day, this time!

This place is authentic. Feels like down home Florida. I don’t even know what down home means, but it’s the kind of language you’ll start using if you eat at Powell’s on your drive from Jacksonville to Gainesville. Don’t stop at chain restaurants when a delicious piece of history is conveniently located and just as quick.

Fantastic food. Great service. It would be great to have if someone could refurbish their establishment or maybe just build a new one just like it. Most investors or banks like to start from scratch because loans for businesses are easier that way.

Great little place to grab a burger or hot dog and ice cream. Best soft serve ice cream around. Be prepared to wait though if you go around lunchtime. The wait can be long but it's worth it.

Great food and ice cream. Service is awsome and the girls are friendly. Make sure to bring cash for a tip or tell them before you swipe your card. Can't leave a tip after you charge. Live this place.

Ice cream cones was old and service had to wait over 45 mins and hardly anyone there.

It was 105 and we were on the bike heat index had to up there!!! Seen the ole dairy freeze we've been before I lendup to ask if we could stop and he was putting the blinker on!!! YES!!!!! It was so good we got one choc. & one banana milk shake they were sooo very good thank you for still being open ,after all these years...

Only option for ice cream is vanilla chocolate or swirl. They were out of chocolate. Wait time for two cones is 15 minutes since they wanted to drag their feet with a "slow ice cream machine" excuse. Way too sweet. Like seriously? How? It's ice cream? Feel like I need to rinse my soul with water LMFAO. Not going back for sure

Can someone please invest in this place. They are so great. They just need a good refurbish. If I had about $100,000 I could do amazing things.

They have very inappropriate reactions to customers being upset or unhappy with there service. The owner is also not very concerned with return service based on personal judgements about customers and their backgrounds.

This is a total hidden gem! The hot fudge sundae was on point! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We have driven by this place quite a bit on our way from Jax to Gainesville. We never stopped but decided too this time. On a hot day, this place is SLAMMED! no joke. It wasn't until now we realized WHY. They've got a small menu but really, who wants too many choices anyway? LolThe customer service was awesome, laid back and friendly.We ordered the twist cone ($1.90 large) and it came out fast but holy moly Batman!!! This thing was HUGE! Now I'm a big girl and I tell you right now...me and my husband shared this and couldn't even finish it. Lol the picture doesn't do it justice. Totally recommend you stop in. This place was great, so were the people. And let's just be honest...some of us are on a budget. This place allows us to enjoy and not have to sacrifice a leg or two like other food establishments - and tastes great.Mahalo Powell's!

Best ice cream my husband and I have ever had. A banana split, strawberry shortcake and a large vanilla dipped cone was $10.25!! We will definitely be back with our family

Good food and nice people!Clean and fresh tasting for a walk up fried place. Wife had a fish sandwich and I had a surprisingly tasty chicken sandwich and we added on mushrooms, corn nuggets and fries, and freezes. Everything exceeded expectations. We’ll be back.
